Morača and Tara canyons, which at the same time represent the most beautiful viewpoints in Montenegro, as well as the untouched nature of national parks – are a special experience of Montenegro in one day. We visit two canyons, the Morača monastery, an exceptional bridge on Tara and two national parks (Biogradska gora and Durmitor). First, you will visit the Morača monastery, with its beautiful natural surroundings and a church dedicated to the Virgin, as well as an inn. Secondly, the Biogradska Gora National Park will capture you with its streams and bays, Biograd Lake, thousand-year-old forests and grasslands, the magnificence of natural beauty. The second deepest canyon in the world (after the Colorado Canyon) is one of the 25 most important sites in the world. Furthermore, you will enjoy clean, untouched nature and you will visit the pearl of Tara, a masterpiece of architecture – the bridge on Tara. Finally, you will definitely be attracted by Durmitor National Park and Black Lake.
Excursion plan
1. Departure from Herceg Novi at 06:00. We continue our journey by ferry to Budva, then to Cetinje, where there is a photo break at Brajići.
2. Arrival in Cetinje and breakfast for 30 minutes.
3. After the break, through Podgorica, we pass through the canyon of the Morača river with several photo breaks. Arrival around 09:45 at the monastery and a 45-minute break to visit the complex.
4. Then there is a departure to the National Park Biogradfsko jezero, where we arrive around 11:30 a.m. A 30-minute sightseeing break.
5. Continuation of the journey towards the magnificent canyon of the river Tara, taking a break at the most famous bridge of Đurđević Tara. Arrival is planned around 1:30 p.m. with a 1.30-minute break for sightseeing and lunch.
6. Around 3:30 p.m., we arrive at Durmitor National Park to visit the Black Lake. Free time 1h
7. Return via Šavnik and Nikšić with a photo break and a panoramic view of the Bay of Kotor.
8. Return to Herceg Novi around 8:00 p.m.
